⏱ REST & TURNAROUND — 2025
Studio Turnaround
12 HRS MINIMUM between your dismissal time and your next call when working at a studio or within the 30-mile zone. Violation = forced call penalty of one additional day's pay.
Overnight Location
11 HRS MINIMUM between dismissal and next call on distant/overnight locations. Travel time back to your lodging is compensable work time — it counts toward turnaround.
Weekend Rest
56 HRS between work weeks (54 hrs at studio locations). If violated, you are owed an additional full day's pay on top of your regular pay.
Stunt Coordinator Rest
9 HRS MINIMUM — Stunt coordinators under Schedule K have a shorter rest provision (9 hrs) vs. the 11-12 hrs for performers.
🍴 MEAL PERIOD RULES — 2025
1st Meal Period
WITHIN 6 HRS of your first call. Must be at least 30 minutes, no longer than 1 hour. No work during the break or it does not count as a meal.
2nd Meal Period
WITHIN 6 HRS of returning from the first meal. Same 30-minute minimum applies. Do not let production push this.
Meal Penalty — 1st Violation
$25 per half-hour or fraction thereof. Starts the moment 6 hours has elapsed with no meal provided. This is a liquidated damages amount — not negotiable.
Meal Penalty — 2nd Violation
$35 per half-hour for the second consecutive meal violation on the same day.
Meal Penalty — 3rd+ Violation
$50 per half-hour for the third and all subsequent violations on the same day. Escalates fast — production pays dearly for not feeding you.
Non-Deductible Breakfast
Producer may provide a NDB within 2 hrs of call. This is non-deductible — it counts as work time. Always note NDB In/Out on your Exhibit G.
⌛ OVERTIME — SCHEDULE H (2025)
Hours 1–8
STRAIGHT TIME 1× Computed from your first call to dismissal, excluding meal periods.
Hours 9–10
TIME & HALF 1.5× Paid in 1/10th hourly increments. OT kicks in at the start of hour 9.
Hours 11+ (Double Time)
DOUBLE TIME 2× All hours beyond 10 are at double time. Sometimes called "golden time." No ceiling.
6th Day
1.5× FULL DAY The entire 6th day of the work week is paid at 1.5× your daily rate, for every hour.
7th Day
2× FULL DAY The entire 7th day is paid at double your daily rate, for every hour.
Holiday Work
2× FULL DAY Work on any SAG-AFTRA contractual holiday is at double time. MLK Day and Juneteenth were added in 2024 and remain in the 2025 contract.
Stunt Adj + OT
CRITICAL Your stunt adjustment is added to your base rate for that day and directly affects overtime, 6th day, 7th day, and holiday pay calculations. Always negotiate your adj BEFORE performing — not after.
Overnight Location Week (6 days)
A 6-day overnight location work week automatically earns you an additional 4 hours OT at straight time added to the weekly rate. OT computed on the 5-day studio week rate.
📄 EXHIBIT G & 15-MINUTE RULE — 2025
What Is Exhibit G
Your official SAG-AFTRA Production Time Report. Documents exact call time, on-set call, on-set dismissal, MU/wardrobe dismissal, all meal in/out times, and stunt adjustments. Never sign a blank or incorrect Exhibit G.
15-Minute Rule
You are compensated for up to 15 minutes to remove ordinary makeup, hair, and wardrobe at end of day when not otherwise on paid work time. This is added to your final compensable time and affects turnaround, OT, and meal penalty calculations.
Final Dismissal Time
Your official dismissal is when you are (1) done with all work, (2) returned to base camp, (3) out of hair/makeup/wardrobe, AND (4) have signed Exhibit G — including any time you wait for production to bring it to you.
Stunt Equipment Handling
Any end-of-day stunt equipment handling before returning to base camp is compensable work time. The 15-minute rule does NOT apply until all compensable work (including equipment handling) is completely done.
Overnight Location — Travel
On overnight locations, compensable time ends ONLY when you return to your lodging. Some productions incorrectly add just 15 min to "dismiss on set." This is wrong. Travel back to hotel is compensable — flag it on your G.
✈ TRAVEL & LOCATION RULES — 2025
Travel Day Pay
FULL DAY RATE Travel to and from distant locations at producer's request is paid at your full daily rate — not a half day.
Per Diem (eff. Dec 7, 2025)
$75/DAY Breakdown: Breakfast $16 + Lunch $22 + Dinner $37. Increased from $70/day. Effective December 7, 2025.
Hold Days — Distant Location
If you cannot return home between shooting days on a distant location, the producer owes you hold day pay for every day you are held — even days you don't work.
Mileage Reimbursement
$0.30/mile if required to report to a location within or outside the 30-mile Hollywood/SF Studio Zone, or 8-mile zone in New York. Keep a mileage log.
Air Travel
Business class required when available. Coach only for domestic flights under 1,000 miles non-stop. Production covers baggage fees for coach travel.
OT Caused by Travel
Overtime caused by travel time is computed at 1.5× time and a half.
PAYMENT & LATE PAY RULES
SAG-AFTRA 2025 — When You Must Be Paid & What You're Owed When You're Not
Confirmed — 2025 SAG-AFTRA Codified Basic Agreement

THURSDAY RULE Your check is due by Thursday of the week following the week you worked. Work Mon–Fri Week 1 → paid by Thursday of Week 2.

Television (all contracts)
THURSDAY RULE Thursday of the week following your work week. Applies across Network, Cable, and Streaming TV agreements.
Commercial Session
21 CALENDAR DAYS Payment must be made within 21 calendar days of the session date. Not business days — calendar days.
P&H Contributions (Employer)
30 DAYS Employers must submit P&H reports and contributions to the SAG-AFTRA plans within 30 days of paying you. Late P&H = your health eligibility at risk.
Residuals — Quarterly
60 DAYS Gross receipts residuals are due within 60 days of each quarter close. Q1 by May 31 | Q2 by Aug 30 | Q3 by Nov 30 | Q4 by Mar 1.
⚠️ LATE PAYMENT PENALTIES — WHAT PRODUCTION OWES YOU
Late Pay Rate
$3.85/BUSINESS DAY For every business day your check is late, production owes you $3.85 in liquidated damages. Accrues automatically — you don't need to ask.
Maximum Late Fee Cap
MAX $96.30 Late fees accrue up to 25 business days = $96.30 maximum before the cap. After that, file a claim for additional damages.
After 25 Business Days
FILE A CLAIM Once 25 business days have passed, file with SAG-AFTRA immediately. Production faces escalating penalties and possible signatory suspension.
P&H Late Contribution
Late P&H submissions by the employer can result in your earnings NOT being credited toward health eligibility for that quarter. Always verify your earnings in the Benefits Manager.
📌 WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN PAID
Step 1 — Document
Gather your signed Exhibit G, deal memo, and contracts. Record the exact date of work and the date payment was due per the Thursday rule or 21-day commercial rule.
Step 2 — Contact Production
Contact the production's payroll department or UPM. Request your check in writing (email). Many late payments are administrative errors that get resolved here.
Step 3 — File with SAG-AFTRA
Call (855) SAG-AFTRA (855-724-2387) or go to sagaftra.org. The union pursues collection on your behalf and the production faces penalties. Do this by day 10 if not resolved.
Step 4 — Track Late Fees
Document every business day late at $3.85/day. Use the Notes field on your work entry in this app to log the late payment history. You are owed this money automatically.
On-Set Emergency Line
(844) 723-3773 — Available 24/7 for urgent on-set issues including safety violations and immediate contract disputes.
🎯 P&H HEALTH ELIGIBILITY — TRACK YOUR EARNINGS
P&H Rate (Employer)
21% OF GROSS Your employer contributes 21% of your gross wages to the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan and Retirement. This is on top of your pay — it is never deducted from your wages.
Agent Fee is Pensionable
If your rate includes a 10% agency fee, P&H contributions are calculated on the full amount including the agent fee. Example: $1,246 + 10% = $1,370.60 — employer pays 21% on $1,370.60.
When to See Earnings
Expect your earnings to appear in the SAG-AFTRA Benefits Manager approximately 6–8 weeks after performing work. Plan health eligibility around this delay.
Missing Earnings
If earnings don't show after 8 weeks, submit a missing earnings request at sagaftrap lans.org with your paystub or contracts. Bank statements alone are not accepted.
STUNT PERFORMER RIGHTS
SAG-AFTRA 2025 — Schedule H Protections & Rights Specific to Stunt Performers
Effective 07/01/2025 — Includes 2023 AI Protections
🔥 STUNT ADJUSTMENT RIGHTS
What Is a Stunt Adj
Additional negotiated pay for specific hazardous work beyond your base rate. Must be agreed to BEFORE performing the stunt. Common types logged in this app: High Fall, Burn, Wire Work, Car Hit, Aerial, Camera Car, Motorcycle, Underwater.
Adj Becomes Your Base Rate
Once agreed, the stunt adj is added to your base rate for that day and affects OT, 6th day, 7th day, and holiday pay. A $500 adj on a $1,246 day = $1,746 base for all premium calculations.
New Stunt = New Adj
If you perform a stunt beyond the scope originally negotiated, you are entitled to a new additional adjustment. This is non-waivable. Negotiate before you perform.
Coordinator Cannot Waive
A stunt coordinator cannot waive your right to a stunt adjustment on your behalf. Your adjustment is your personal contractual right under Schedule H.
🏋 SCHEDULE H — YOUR SPECIFIC RIGHTS (2025)
You Are a Principal
Stunt performers are classified as principal performers — not background. You have full principal performer rights including residuals, consecutive employment protections, and all Schedule A/H terms.
Stunt Double Likeness
Updated in 2023: producers must endeavor to hire stunt doubles who bear a "sufficient likeness" to the principal. Coded as "sufficient likeness" rather than same race/sex for legal reasons, but the intent remains.
AI & Digital Replication
2023 ADDITION Productions must obtain your consent AND negotiate separately for any AI scanning, digital replication (EBDR), or synthetic use of your performance or likeness. You earn residuals on EBDR use.
Safety Refusal Right
You have the absolute right to refuse any stunt you believe is unsafe. Production cannot terminate you or retaliate. Always document safety concerns in the Notes field on your work entry in this app.
Wardrobe Allowance
If production does not supply wardrobe, you are owed $12/outfit/week ($18 for formal attire). Note it on your Exhibit G and log it in Stunt Adjustments.
Hair & Makeup Consultation
2023 ADDITION You must be given the opportunity to meaningfully consult on hair and makeup needs. If production can't provide qualified personnel, they reimburse your costs + pay minimum 2 hours at your rate.
Schedule Break — Theatrical
Stunt performers earning $6,350 or less/week (updated 2025) are on the Schedule D/H money break. Over the break, OT is based on the money break amount, not your negotiated rate.
Stunt Coordinator — Flat Deal OT
Flat deal coordinators under Schedule K cannot be required to arrive earlier or stay later than necessary. The AMPTP issued a bulletin specifically on this in 2023. Flat deal does not mean unlimited hours.
Coordinator Residuals
NEW — 2023 Stunt coordinators on TV and New Media who do not perform on-camera stunts now participate in residuals as a day player for TV reruns, High Budget SVOD, and foreign free TV.

CALCULATE YOUR PRO-RATED PAY
Pro-Rated Pay Due
📌 Rule (Theatrical Basic): When employed on a weekly basis for fewer than 5 days, pay is pro-rated at 1/5 of the weekly rate per day worked. The weekly rate on the contract must always be the 5-day studio rate — even on overnight location weeks.

📌 Stunt Adj: Stunt adjustments are added on top and also factor into OT, 6th day, 7th day, and holiday pay computations.

📌 Overnight Location 6-Day Week: Automatically adds 4 hours OT at straight time on top of the weekly scale.
